Delightful and comfortable place to stay if visiting Donegal town. Easy 23 minute walk downhill to town. Owner/hostess is warm, caring, very helpful and professional. Made our stay just perfect! The b and b is like a small boutique hotel with every convenience and a fine breakfast. Special treat: can see and hear the sheep in the pasture behind the property and take a nice country walk as well.
Beautiful B&B! The rooms, the property, the breakfast and Theresa- all a 5 out of 5. Cannot wait to come back and explore more of Donegal. Highly recommend Ardnabreatha House!
Had an amazing stay. Your B&B is beautiful and the breakfast was wonderful.
We only stayed one night, but we would gladly go back. All around, this is a wonderful B&B!
Friendly, helpful and a great breakfast.
Excellent accommodation with excellent food and service! Sarah really assisted our journey with her knowledge of the area! Twin beds were a bit soft and could feel the springs, but overall Great stay and visit!! 5 stars!
I had a quite few days away with girlfriend and am so happy that I stayed here. Wonderful place and Theresa was amazing, really made a stay perfect. Breakfast was also brilliant. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice peaceful stay, the location is also ideal - its close to everything that you would like to see in the area. I will be returning!!
An absolutely fabulous stay. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The common areas warm and inviting. The breakfast is lovely. But the most special of everything are the people. Every single person on staff was completely invested in making our visit wonderful. We deeply appreciate the care and kindness. Thank you Theresa and the entire Ard Na Breatha family.
A warm welcome greets you at Ardnabreatha House along with a fantastic layout of the accommodation and facilities. A great breakfast selection awaits you in the morning along with wonderful views over Donegal. Thank you Theresa.
We really enjoyed our short trip to Ard na Breatha, which was booked at short notice. The room was comfortable, the food was lovely and the surroundings were very pleasant. The guest sitting room was also a very relaxing place to sit in the evening. As we left, my small daughter was very keen to know when we could come back! If I had to make one small constructive comment, it might be that dinner main course, at the price point, may have benefitted from a shade more of either the garlic dauphinoise potatoes (which were absolutely delicious) or the champ, which accompanied our steaks. But the desserts made up for this and the steaks themselves were also really nice! Food quality exceeds many hotels. We stayed right at the end of the season, just after Halloween, just before annual shut down and refresh of the rooms, but everything was clean, comfortable and functioning. Thanks.
We loved our quick stay at the Ardnabreatha. The setting is lovely and very peaceful. The lounge and bar are very cozy. Breakfast was delicious. The room was very comfortable. We arrived early and every effort was made to get us checked in and settled right away, which we really appreciated. She also provided us lots of useful tourist information.
Teresa, Many thanks for the warm welcome and very comfortable accommodation at Ard na Breatha. We stayed on a b&b basis. Our room was excellent with lovely added touches in the en-suite, very welcome. Your staff we met at breakfast were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast choice was excellent. The price was great value for money. We would definitely make a return visit and recommend it to others. Audrey McGuinness Dublin.
Really nice and friendly!
We were greeted by Therese upon arrival which was late in the day. She showed us the amenities and our rooms. There is a warm fireplace in the common sitting room and lounge beside reception and dining room. We enjoyed a delicious meal on our first night and hearty breakfasts, including a great fruit salad and other offerings as well as a full Irish. The dining room boast large windows and a view of the valley. Bed was comfortable and view of the mountains in the distance was lovely. rooms and bathroom are small and clean but met our needs.
Fantastic hotel, with great staff and spotless rooms
Thankyou for having us in your beautiful guesthouse, the pleasure wascall OURS! Totally relaxing atmosphere, the decor was very tasteful , the bed a nd the room were really comfortable and immaculate!! The breaskfast was top notch and last but certainly not least our lovely hostess Theresa, attentive but not intruding! All in all we have a perfect break and so do our two dogs!!
My wife and I stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary and we loved our stay! The room was spacious and nicely decorated, the lounge very homely, staff very welcoming and friendly and the multiple choice breakfast was delicious. The staff even left us a lovely box of chocolates and card for our anniversary which we were very touched by! Thank you to all at Ardnabreatha guest house...we had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!
A bit of the country close to the city.
Lovely guesthouse, very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, felt very welcomed
The staff were great and we had a very nice stay. The restaurant was amazing - both dinner and breakfast. I would highly recommend to others.
Had a lovely stay. Very friendly and helpful - food was great!
Enjoyable place to stay.
Fantastic Guest house. Rooms excellent, food simply delicious and plenty of it. Small bar with large selection of both spirits and bottle beers. No Draught beer. Close to centre of Donegal Town. Tremendous staff who are so helpful. Will be back.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful with landmarks and restaurants to see in the area. The breakfasts were great and the dinner was as good as the reviews stated!
My father and I had an eventful stay with Theresa. We arrived later than planned but were kindly still offered a delicious dinner in the pretty restaurant. I managed to lock my car key inside the car at 8am and by 930am Theresa had tracked down a garage who managed to solve the issue when our car hire company were still fumbling around! The rooms are spacious, warm and beautifully situated with nice views. The personal service and location make this a special place to stay. There is a residents lounge and honesty bar ensuring a relaxing stay is possible away from the main house and the excellent Irish breakfast was one of the best we had in our week in Donegal. You pay for what you get this is not the cheapest option but you feel you are in a hotel with everything at hand. Would stay again and recommend !
We had an excellent stay at Ard Na Breatha when attending a wedding at the nearby Lough Esle hotel. The team were very obliging, very good with communication and gave us a great welcome. The food was great - we had dinner and breakfast. The setting is lovely and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. An excellent B+B experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were completely delighted with our stay. The online pictures online are lovely but they do not show the gorgeous details of the guesthouse, let you feel Theresa's welcoming warmth or taste the delicious gourmet dinners and breakfast of brown bread, fresh eggs and those to die for sausages. Great location for day trips plus taxi service to town available.
Such a lovely, peaceful stay. We highly recommend the restaurant, where we had the best dinner of our trip to Ireland. Extremely helpful, kind staff.
We had a wonderful stay. The room was perfect in size and cleanliness. We ate at the restaurant twice as well as for 3 breakfasts. The food was excellent and the staff were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your guesthouse was our sons favorite place to stay on the whole vacation hands down. You made him feel special and we appreciated that.
Great - very clean - food was fabulous and the staff was wonderful! Setting was perfect Irish setting and peaceful too!
A lovely venue with charming and friendly owners and staff. Would not hesitate to come back here if in the area
We really enjoyed our stay at Ardnabreatha. The facilities are all very comfortable and well presented. It was far enough away from town to have a country feel, but close enough to access all town facilities.
super beds and a high quality breakfast. Very friendly people
I give this B&B a big thumbs up. The room was comfortable, quiet and very clean. The restaurant wasn't open the night we stayed but it's only a 12 minute walk to town and we had a good meal at the pub recommended by our hostess at Ard Na Breatha (wish I could remember her name - she's a great hostess). Breakfast was very good.
This was our second time here and it def won't be our last.Everything was perfect from the most comfortable beds to the fantastic dinner. Theresa is the most obliging and friendly proprietor you could wish for, nothing was too much bother. This time we brought our dog.We recommend it to anyone.
Comfortable accommodations, great breakfasts and a superb dinner in the attached restaurant all added up to a great place to stay while visiting Donegal.
Great location. Service was excellent and food was perfeect.
We had a wonderful stay a Ardnabreatha Guesthouse. We can't say enough good things about this place. The accommodations were lovely. We also had a wonderful breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. We would highly recommend this place to stay while visiting Donegal.
Good location, but sat nav does not send you to the road under the main bypass . Bathrooms could be refurbished/ freshened up. Really good food and breakfast.
Lovely stay. Excellent service and food! Good location.
We enjoyed our stay very much, excellent service, comfy room, delicious food.
-
An absolute gem! Lovely rooms! The dinner was the best dinner that we had on our two-week trip! The staff and the service was first-rate.
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , the whole place had a very cosy feel about it. the room was perfect described according to website. the food was delicious and service was excellent. the staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. a pleasure to stay here and would reccomend it to anyone!
Welcome was warm, staff was lovely and food was fantastic!! Would highly recommend!
Enjoyed our stay. Excellent value for the money spent. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the owners were very nice and helpful.
Thank you !
Perfect...clean, friendly, welcoming...highly recommend!
Wonderful hospitality, extremely clean and would definitely visit again and recommend to friends. Dinner was amazing, my partner had the duck breast and breakfast was great too.
We stayed at several BBs during our two weeks in Ireland. My wife and I agreed that this was our favorite place. Sarah is a fantastic hostess, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was Full Irish with an additional table of smoked salmon and cheese, making it our favorite during our stay. Our only regret is that we only spent a single night there. We should have stayed at least two. :-)
We had the good fortune to stay in several very nice places while in Ireland, but Ard na Breatha was the best in terms of quality, attention to detail, and comfort. The dedication of the owners and staff to ensuring a pleasant stay was very evident. In addition to the accommodations, the food was fantastic and our dinner there was the most memorable meal of our trip. Highly recommended!
Beautiful location, wished we could have stayed a few days!
Great B & B with excellent restaurant for evening meals. Would use again if visiting the area, owner and staff welcoming and helpful. Need to prebook restaurant at busy times. Large and easy access car park.Ground floor rooms available if you don't do stairs.
A very comfortable stay. Food excellent, service great, would not hesitate to return.
We were only at Ard na Breatha for a short stay overnight, but wish it had been longer. It was clean, well appointed, and the staff was fabulous. Loved the location and wished we had more time to explore town. We would stay here again in a second!
Fantastic spot
We had a lovely time at Ard Na Breatha. Wonderful food, cosy room and great views of the valley. The Irish breakfast was hot and tasty and the French toast was the best I have ever had!
During our trip it was our best B&B. Everything was perfect mostly the quality of the breakfast. I'll come back with pleasure. Thanks for all!! Loïc GRESET
Very Friendly! We had a very pleasant stay. The staff is very friendly. The food was great! It is situated in a beautiful quiet area within a working farm. Both of us enjoyed it and felt welcome. We would definitiely stay there again.
Great experience-would go back anytime!!
Really nice and friendly B&B. Highly recommended.
Perfect in every way
Clean, comfortable, well-appointed accommodation, great food and a caring, friendly staff made this a really lovely place to stay for the family. Highly recommended!
My daughter and I stayed in late July. We had the nicest experience. The owners were fantastic! The food was delicious! The room was beautiful! I cannot wait to return so we can stay there again!
Excellent B&B, great breakfast, great location.
What an amazing place to spend an evening. We enjoyed the comfort of our rooms (everything was perfect and clean) and loved having a night cap by the fire. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were available and helpful to answer any questions we had about the local area.
everything perfect. Great restaurant with very professional service. Thanks especially to Miss Sara
we were repeat guests and would stay again
Very nice place to stay. Wish we couild have stayed a few days rather than one day.
Pleasant, clean guest-house. Friendly and very helpful land-lady and nothing we requested was too much trouble for her. Restaurant not open in the evening whilst we were there.
Very comfortable, very friendly, very good food - a very nice place to stay!
Loved it! Thank you Theresa, Sara and all.... Comfortable beds, wonderful food, happy noisy sheep, beautiful view....
Thank you sincerely for your hospitality at Ard na Breatha during my stay last week.Rooms were comfortable and cosy and the location was ideal for Donegal town.Loved your home cooked breakfasts and the variety you offered. Your staff were courteous and friendly.Everything added up to an enjoyable visit and I hope to stay in Ard na Breatha in the future. Ellen Keane
Theresa is a beautiful person making this one of the best B&B's we've stayed at in our trips to Ireland. Wonderfully located to use as a central hub from which to take daily excursions. Thanks for helping to make our vacation so wonderful...
We enyojed the stay, the friendly atmosphere and the breakfast.
Friendly, efficient, excellent food. A must stay when visiting Donegal, and great value for money.
We had a wonderful time and where looked after very well. We would recomend the place to anyone and will stay there again if we get back over there. Thresa and Sahra looked after us very well and Albert's way with food was outstanding.
First rate accommodation with fantastic food.
Delightful room, lovely staff & great restaurant.
A wonderful stay! And such tasty food! A great base from which to explore the County Donegal! Thanks!
We stayed as we were going to a wedding. Very helpful owners. Lovely rooms. Great breakfast. Just the place to stay as it is outside Donegal Town and has lovely views - and is quiet.
A warm welcome. Spacious and immaculately cleaned room. Outstanding breakfast optiions. Friendly and professional service.
Excellent B&B with exceptional food
A special place in Donegal that maintains a standard thats hard to beat. The food in the restaurant was a highlight of the 2 day stay.
WE had a lovely stay with you. It was a very nice quiet place with wonderful food. Thank you very much
Hi there, I stayed in Ardnabreatha Guesthouse on 7 July and found my stay there to be extremely enjoyable in every aspect. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We greatly appreciated the lift into Donegal town on the Saturday night!! The food was excellent and our room and the rest of the guest house formed a beautiful setting for our stay there. Thank you very much for your hospitality and service. Hopefully we will come your way again soon! All the best, Mark O'Keeffe
We loved it here!
We love this place. We've stayed with Theresa and Albert 4 or 5 years now, and have felt at home every time. Theresa is always friendly and helpful, and Albert does a fabulous breakfast every day and the occasional, even more fabulous, dinner. They don't serve dinner every night, but make it a point to be there when they do. Sarah, who serves dinner, is a lovely young woman. The location is great for us. Walking distance from the Diamond, yet settled in the green, rolling hills of Donegal. Little sheep dot the landscape in every direction, and it's very quiet. We like to take off and explore the Donegal coast, and the peninsulas, and Ard na Breatha is the perfect place to relax at the end of a long day. There is a fully stocked bar, and a comfortable sitting room. We look forward to seeing them next year. Book early. They get very busy in the summer!
Very comfortable lovely surroundings, quiet as well. We had a nice one night stay.A very competant business.
Beautiful location, superb breakfasts and staff are exceptional with the owner Theresa being so helpful. Our 2nd visit and will definately t=return. Highly recommended.
Everything was perfect, special the three course dinner!
Enjoyed our stay at this BB. Lovely location and very clean. Friendly, helpful owners and a great breakfast. Lots of parking. Would recommend this BB.
My wife and I have travelled to Ireland four times and have stayed at many fine B&Bs. I would rate Ardna Breatha among the very finest. Theresa could not have been more helpful and congenial. She was the perfect hostess. I would also highly recommend taking advantage of having dinner on site. The food was delicious and was also a good value. The location is perfect because you are in a quiet, secluded location but only a short walk or taxi ride to all the action in Donegal Town. If we ever visit Donegal again, we will definitely book at Ardna Breatha.
A Very tidy and freindly accomodation . Very good standard of food and I would happily recommend .
This was our first b&B after getting off the plane and I so appreciated the hospitality and graciousness and the wonderful meal we had that evening. Not to have to go anywhere was just wonder. I also appreciated being able to in the early morning walk outside and having a place to sit and greet the day....
We had an excellent stay at Ardnabreatha and will definitely go back in the near future. Food was absolutely fantastic. Compliments to the chef!!
our favourite on the two week stay in Ireland! Theresa and staff made us feel so welcome, the property is outstanding- beautiful views, lovely rooms and we chose to have dinner @ Ardnabreatha which was a great idea - food was excellent and presented lovely. Best 'sticky toffee pudding i've ever had! thank you for such a wonderful stay! Ray & Lori - Canada
Quality accommodation in a lovely setting. Hostess very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts and evening meal good and reasonably priced.
Wonderful bed and breakfast. So clean and the owners were so welcoming. The food was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Theresa wax a lively low key but warm and generous and helpful host. The room was comfortable and warm and well equipped. The only comment we'd make in relation to rh room is ghat the pillows were hard. The breakfast was terrific and generous. Our dinner was very enjoyable and really good value. We very much liked the serving of a drink by the turf fire before dinner too. We would unhesitatingly recommend this guesthouse.
The Ard na Breatha was a fabulous guesthouse. The setting was beautiful, the rooms clean and tidy, and very well kept. The five course meal was the best meal me and my wife has ever eaten, and we ve aten in some fabulous places. The sticky toffe pudding was to die for. My lamb shank and my wifes fish were perfect. Honestly, this was cooking at the highest standard. We will definitely go back to the Ard na Breatha. Its the best place we ve ever stayed Loved it!!!!
Ardnabreatha is the best kept secret in Ireland. comfortable rooms, incredibly good food, all locally sourced and the friendliest, most helpful staff you could imagine. We will be returning and have encouraged family and friends to visit at the earliest opportunity.
Excellent place to stay, Theresa is a real star. Hope to be back again soon.
Very comfortable and spacious, quiet and relaxing guesthouse with food of excellent quality.
I was so pleased. We had a memorable stay.
A very friendly establishment, our dog was totally at home,i would definitely stay there again.
Our stay was delightful - the accommodations were clean and adequate; the dinner was absolutely spectacular - the best by far on our trip. We really enjoyed breakfast as well. Anne
Don't miss your opportunity to stay at Ardnabreatha! Lovely, generous owners. From the time you come in, you feel like you're part of the extended family. The restaurant is also very good, I truly recommend to eat there at least one night. Very very good value for the price.
A most enjoyable experience. Very nice and warm atmosphere. So sad our stay was so short.
An adorable guest house. Clean as a whistle. We missed breakfast but the caretaker even offered us some toast and coffee for the road. Very helpful staff offered driving directions. Be sure to follow the website's directions from Donegal town.
our short stay was met with friendliness, beautiful breakfast, and great service. will hope to pay another visit again, highly recommended to our friends.
Hi There, Thank you for having us at your wonderful and homely guesthouse. My girlfriend and I loved the beautiful sitting room and furnitures around. The traditional breakfast and french toast was very tasty. Hope you are well and I hope we will go there again in future. Regards, Declan & Agnieszka.
Everything about our stay in Ardnabreatha was excellent, especially the food which I note you do not cover in your star rating!!
If you made a checklist detailing requirments necessary to make a stay perfect this guesthouse would tick all of the boxes. From the minute we pulled up to the beautifully maintained house and gardens we knew this was going to be special. Theresa who owns the guesthouse was so friendly and warm and made us feel so welcome. The interior is exceptionally comfortable and homely that you start to relax as soon as you arrive. The room we had was spacious, spotlessly clean and decorated superbly. Plenty of wardrobe/drawer space, lovely comfortable beds, tv and tea/coffee making facitlities. The bathroom was also immaculately clean. The restaurant was another experience. This guesthouse is renown for it's cuisine and the 5 course meal that we had will stay in our memories for a long time. It was superb. Every mouthful was to be savoured. We had a great night's sleep as it is just so peaceful and tranquil. No noisy doors being banged or guests getting to their rooms in the middle of the night like in hotels. Just absolute peace and quiet. Breakfast was also fabulous from the homemade fruit salad to the award winning suasages in the best full Irish breakfast we have ever tasted. The whole experience was outstanding as you can tell from this review. We have stayed is so many places that have disappointed us over the years that this was a true pearl and we'll be back. A great location for exploring Donegal and I only wish we could have stayed longer
Note---North Ayrshire is in SCOTLAND (Minus 2 points for that) Chosen off the internet, and unsure what we would find---this place is a DEFINITE find. Room was lovely, spacious and very clean, and the dinner was "to die for". The staff were very friendly and most welcoming and my only complaint was the lack of a single malt (Scottish) whisky to round of my superb meal. However the Black Bush proved to be an adequate substitiute. Thank you one and all.
Highly recommended
We would have enjoyed staying two nights instead of only one. The dinner was excellent; breakfast was too of course, but we particularly enjoyed dinner and wine and Bushmill's Black. We hope to return; there are huge things to see and do in Ireland that we didn't have time to do in a t wo week trip.
We really enjoyed our stay. The accomodation was very comfortable and we had a delicious meal in the restuarant.
We stayed here in July 2011. It was absolutely beautiful, very peaceful and scenic. The rooms were lovely and the food was great in the restaurant. The service and the staff were so nice, it really felt like a hotel but with better service. We will definitely go back to this guest house and have already recommended it to our family and friends.
Everything was perfect, and we'd give more than 5 stars for friendliness, if possible!
When we arrived at The Diamond in Donegal, we called the hotel to ask for directions, and Theresa Morrow came into town and showed us the way. What excellent, personalised service! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we were happy to be able to bring our cat along. Except for the small size of our bathroom, everything else about our stay was perfect. The dining room has great rustic ambience, and our breakfast was delicious. We especially liked the choice of hot dishes for breakfast, and appreciated the fact that local and organically-grown food was used whenever possible.
we enjoyed our stay very much
Great experience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend the Ard na Breatha Guesthouse!
I have left standard of the bar and resturant at two stars because I did not use the restaurant. I presume that it was better than this as the breakfast was excellent.
So confortable!! I enjoyed it.
A wonderfully appointed and comfortable B&B. Friendly service and a quite superb breakfast - the organic yogurt was particularly delicious. We would all loved to have stayed longer and enjoy the peace and views afforded there. We had a delicious bar supper at the Castle Pub.
Great value for money, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Great sized room.
Had a wonderful time, and hope to be back. Thanks again!
We stayed at Ard Na Breatha for 2 nights in mid-February. I had stayed there before and we would highly recommend it to anybody visiting Co. Donegal. Particulary liked dinner at the end of each day!! Theresa and the staff looked after us very well too.
